Some specialty sneaker stores have forgiving return policies

Well, that was yesterday. A sprint around the block today and something is rubbing you the wrong way.

Road Runner's 60-Day Perfect Fit Guarantee policy allows customers to exchange a pair of sneakers or receive store credit for up to two months after purchase.

"Even if you run them into the mud," she said. "No questions asked."

For an extra $19.99 a year, Road Runner VIP members get the policy extended to 90 days, along with other incentives.

The Ridgewood Running Company not only implements a 30-day exchange policy (as long as the shoes aren't worn outside) but also offers customers a free video gait analysis.
